Hi there.
Welcome to all my new followers and I hope that you find my blog interesting and inspiring. And thank you for the lovely comments and likes as well.
I did promise in my last post that I would be featuring a Christmas card, but unfortunately, my order has been held up and I have had to resort to using the last of my Chantilly stash to create this post. However, I am hoping to be participating in the first Australasian CTMH blog hop featuring the new Holidays with Heart products next weekend, which I am really excited about and I can’t wait to see what we all make. So next week, NZ customs (?) permitting, I should be able to do a Christmas card featuring these lovely new papers and embellishments.
This week I have done a side step card with the instructions from a different source. Splitcoaststampers have a loads of tutorials covering lots of different techniques. Here is the link:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/sidestepcard/
This card is very easy to make with only one cut and several scoring lines to create the card. I am really pleased with how it turned out and here it is:
The materials used are all CTMH products:
Alcohol Markers – Pear and Cotton Candy
My Acrylix stamp sets – Card Chatter – Sympathy, You are My Happy, Card Word Puzzle
Clear sparkles – coloured green with the Pear alcohol markers
Fiskars Deluxe Surecut Craft Paper Trimmer
I love using the clear stamps as it is so easy to place the image where you want it. For the green leaves on the face of the card I have used the small leaf from the Card Word Puzzle stamp and stamped it several times to create the look of a larger stamp.
For the matting I have trimmed each layer down by 1/4 inch each side – see my Cardmaking 101 how to do this.
The flowers have been fussy cut using the scissors and coloured in with the alcohol inks which I am really enjoying using. I have also used 3 D foam tape on one of the flowers to create more dimension and depth with the flowers.
I hope I have inspired you to try something different with your cardmaking.
Happy Crafting
Patricia
